Andrew: that's exactly it. The band were once called Amina, then changed their name to Amiina to avoid a conflict. We named her after them. (Initially Amiina, then Amina for convenience).

Incidentally, I saw Amina supporting Sigur Rós in London. They were excellent, actually a little more interesting than the rather uninspired performance of their better-known counterparts.

There's an excellent video here of them playing in Reykavik recently. If you look carefully in the top and centre of the screen, you can see me hanging over the balcony. :-)
