Route Map Holiday 2005

Cinque Terre - Started the holiday here
Florence of course - great campsite on the edge of town called Camping Michelangelo
Siena, home of the Palio
Chianti Region - including
San Gimignano, Volterra,
Colle di Val d'Elsa and
Montereggioni.
Maremma natural park - easily one of the best parts of the holiday
Saturnia - Thermal Spa town and thermal waterfall
Elba
Pisa - surprised at how much more there is to this place than the tower
Lucca - Another hightlight
The Apuane Alps - the one place we wanted to visit but didn't have time -
Somewhere around here there is the Abbey of St Galgano where there is a 12 century sword in the stone said to have been plunged into a rock in 1180, by Galgano Guidotti, a medieval knight who renounced war and worldly goods to become a hermit

Well, as close as we could get it in Powerpoint. We live about 4 hrs north of Tuscany. Copious notes added following Mr Farrow's suggestion
