"A Typical Condominium"
At least, that's what I thought the red banner over the entrance read, when I first caught sight of this grand building bathed in the mid-day sunlight, practically begging to have its picture taken.
In fact, it actually says "aTYPICAL CONDOMINIUM" - a subtle but important distinction! "Atypical" it certainly is...
After some research, it turns out that this condo unit goes by the name "Rutherford Place at Stuyvesant Square", and was originally built as a hospital in 1902. NY Times article here.
