At IhnatCorp, Our Sole Product Is Innovation
Here's a sneak peek at my upcoming Kickstarter campaign: the Etaoin Shrdlu iPad keyboard.
There are those who insist that "real" computers don't have virtual keyboards. "If they can't take the iPad seriously because it doesn't have a mechanical keyboard," I reasoned, "then clearly, the more mechanical the keyboard is, the happier they're going to be."
Minuses: portability is admittedly an issue. But I'm addressing that complaint by making the carrying handle on the back a little larger.
Pluses: it connects to the iPad via Bluetooth. No unsightly wires!
(Except for the pair of 220V mains connections.)
Cleaning rag (pictured) is extra.

Cool Andy!
One bonus for the iPad is that it's free of lead pigs!
I live nearby a living printing museum that has a working Linotype!
It could be that the iPads are really "Transformers" to protect us from the evil Androids!

Is that a microfiber cleaning cloth? If so I could totally be on board.

If it folds into a nice protective carrying case, I'm sold!
(That's the Waltham museum, right?)

Liquid Metal?

I dunno. I've read that this thing is notorious for dingle-lock when operated in non-isomated motion.

Could you have imagined what the first iPod dock looked like?!

Couldn't you fix the portability issue by slapping a few dozen castors on there? I'm in.

No, wait. I know some newspaper execs who would love to buy a couple of these, provided they get a state-funded job-training grant to provide marketakble skills for out of work Web page designers.
BTW, you were a smash on Chicago's 50K watt WGN-AM 890 on Tuesday assessing the iPad. The Sun-Times doesn't know how good they got it. Nice going.

The shop I'm currently working in had a Linotype until about 6 years ago. It's pretty sad I knew what it was as a thumbnail. I Probably have enough parts in out basement to build a working one.
I love the smell of melted lead in the morning.
PS Type metal is not lead it's an amalgam of lead and other metal(s) usually tin.

Sorry. It's a bit small for my needs. I'm waiting for the iPad 3. More pixels for my buck. This should result in accessories of a more suitable size.
