Deluxe Town Diner, Watertown, MA
![]() I had an important errand to run in Waltham (why is it that you have to drive a half an hour to buy a decent pizzelle iron?), and on the basis that Waltham and Watertown are both north of where I live (as is Canada) and they both happen to start with the same letter, I decided to detour there for lunch and check out the Deluxe Town Diner.
It's been on my list for a little while now, plus the Deluxe is famous for its pancakes. I've been jonesing for a stack of real pancakes ever since Rich and I completed the Diner Decathalon last month, when my relationship with this breakfast staple was strictly look-but-don't-eat. Commentsandyi

Oh, bring back the memories! I remember this beautiful blue jewel.
And Waltham: isn't there a diner named Wilson's there? An old Worcester? I, ahem, stole an ashtray there once—as you say, during younger, wilder days.
