Those reckless young fools...

It's normally me in the driving seat but this shot is the reason I first wanted a car mount. It's been a long time coming.

The car: a mid 60's Ford Zephyr ('67 MkIII I think)
The models: Kellie and Craig

Strobist: diffused SB-600 in car dead centre between camera and models; bare SB-800 dead centre behind models for rim.

And!!!! This is simply stunning, and is definitely amongst my favourite light painting/long exposure shots of all time. As soon as I opened this I exclaimed GREAT WORRRRRK! Darren had to come and take a peek and loves it also. The lighting in-cabin is especially outstanding. Great concept, POV, light trails, and reflections. You should be extremely happy with this! one question, I know cuse I've done that in a long exposure in the car is so damn difficult to freeze the guys in it, how can you do it? I know you use some flash inside, but, do u use it in the end of the shot or how? cuse I allways get ghost around hehehe and that piss me off if you say that its straight from the cam I have to test lot of ways in order to get that result!!

Marc: we nearly wiped the mist off the screen but figured it added to the shot

Vass: Yes, I got asked to do some portraits for a friend and his GF. What do I know about shooting people other than sticking them in a car...

H8: thanks, man. Got this printed already and it looks at least as good :)

Jimbo: there was negligible ambient light. I got the flash exposure and composition right over a few takes, and had an instinct that the shot would have to run for about 30s to grab something from the sky. Used front curtain so the models could relax slightly as soon as the exposure began. Sorry for pissing you off tho dude ;)

Great shot there, always fond of your less 'petrolheaded' shots. The lighting and subject along with the classic car make a great timless feeling shot. I think that with a slightly tighter crop top and bottom this would make an excellent extra wide panorama shot! Stunning work.
