Empty Frame
![]() I took a little photo excursion with some friends up to a dried up lake, Lake Lavon (about 45 minutes north of Dallas). There has been a drought throughout most of Texas for the past month or two, and this lake, which was already virtually empty, has areas which are completely bare. One of my friends brought along a red 11 X 14 frame to use for conceptual work, and this is one of the photos that I took. One thing I regret is having used a center spot filter in camera. The frame, not being in the center, is now slightly blurred at the edges, disturbing the piece a bit. I don’t have any photos without the effect, so I had to make due. I still like the photo overall.
Tones and general exposure were done post-process in Photoshop CS2 Camera RAW. A vignette was also added to increase the eerie effect.
