Downtown Los Angeles, from a car

Downtown Los Angeles looks, in comparison with other cities of its size, really bizarre. First off, there are only a handful of skyscrapers (in contrast to hundreds in Chicago, and who-knows-how-many in New York). Second, the tallest building is only 73 stories tall (US Bank Tower, center). Granted, this still makes it the 22nd tallest building in the world, but still. It just looks a bit small amidst the veritable ocean of sprawl in the valley there. Interesting note: The US Bank Tower is designed to be able to withstand an earthquake of 8.3 on the richter scale.

yeah, isn't it wierd how the downtown there isn't much of a downtown? no one ever really goes there, either, which is funny. that's West Coast for ya though.

Sholeh, you stole the words from my mouth. As I was reading, I heard myself say out loud "Who knows stuff like that!?!" Hahahaha. Awesome, Andrew.
