a pillar on the roof of Jokhang Monastery in Lhasa, Tibet.
Jokhang has/was/is/could be one of the most holy temple's in Lhasa as it houses a relic of one of the Tara's who is reputed to have converted the then King of Tibet to Buddhism. Now it is typically full of Han security men and very carefully controlled.
Not that this seems to make it any less holy for the Tibetans prostrating themselves outside.
