Eye See You 2

    About this time last year, Louis Vuitton installed Olafur Eliasson's light sculpture 'Eye See You' in their windows around the world. To compliment my photograph of one of those sculptures, this year I thought I'd take a picture of an actual eye.

    This macro shot has had a certain amount of post processing, mainly to increase the contrast and emphasise the filamentary structure of the tissue in the iris.

      Yes indeed, we didn't have to do a Voight-Kampff test on this subject - the maker's signature was so clear, it was obvious they were a replicant. ;-)

      To be fair, I think the Eye of Sauron was more of a lizard's eye and had a few more flames around it... but I will add the tag :)

      It's very unusual to see the eye without the sclera. The iris of the human eye has always fascinated me with it's colors and textures. But now that I see one with the sclera cut out, I am forced to realize the importance of the rest of the eye (sclera and shape of the lids) in the appearance of this little organ. The iris itself does not convey the emotion although it is the part of the eye that I focus on most.
      I have to go look at it as large as I can.

      do you want a irisdiagnostic?

    35. . Andrew Dunn . (48 months ago | reply)

      That's OK thanks. I'm a born again sceptic and for me iris diagnostics have about as much credibility as phrenology.

      As Wikipedia's article on iridology says;
      Well controlled scientific evaluation of iridology has shown entirely negative results.
      That's enough for me!. Although the idea of conducting 'double blind' testing takes on an extra dimension. . . .
