Now that I'm on swing shift, I can make time for some night photography after work. This is a shot I've been wanting to get for years, and involves pulling off on the side of I-5.

Last weekend I participated in a workshop led by Sean Bagshaw on digital developing techniques. I have tried to make something out of this image several times but up until now I just couldn't make it work. This is a double processed RAW image blended using channel masks and a few other techniques. It's not perfect but was a great practice subject for me as I work on honing my skills.

I hiked up here for sunrise last Sat, and got a nice sunrise. You have to really squint to see Mt. Hood on the left, the clouds wouldn't quite part for that.

Here's another of last Thursday's sunset. After next week I'll be on swing shift for awhile, so I won't see a sunrise or a sunset during the week.

This is a 3-shot stitch of single exposures.

Tonight's Sunset over downtown Portland. This is a 2 exposure blend, one for the sky/water and one for the city.
