Savage was made as a present for Gary's birthday. We were at a real loss over a present, and Neil suggested making a sock doll. We chose a miniature savage because Gary is boggled by the amount they can eat (hence the fork).

I had to work out how to do hair (it would do to read the sock doll book for an easier way - d'oh), make a grass skirt (dark green felt and green crepe paper), and a safety pin through the nose (a roll of sock).

savage started life as a complimentary pair of Cathay Pacific socks.
