Setting

    One of the things I love most about Maine are all of the rock walls. Some of the rock walls at the homestead are in need of serious repair work, but this one is a beauty.

      We have loads of them in Rhode Island too -- and I LOVE them! Each time I see them, I want to know who built them. There are even rock walls where you wouldn't guess a property line to exist.

      Yeah, this particular wall is not the actual property line. There are rock walls all over the homestead (about 150 acres) and I wonder why some are where they are. Brian's grandparents and great-grandparents used to raise livestock, so I think this wall might have been one way to fence the cows and sheep in.

      You are correct! This used to be the sheep pen.
