milk in bags

    Us crazy Canadians.

    Why? Why not!
    - less packaging, less waste
    - those plastic bags are STURDY. wash them out and re-use for freezer bags, or sewing patterns that fit inside exactly.
    - less open milk at a time, remaining milk stays fresher longer
    - you can toss a bag of milk in the freezer if you need to

Yeah, I was looking up some links and was surprised to find they're not west of Manitoba. :-/

It's funny, we never buy the bags, but lately we've been thinking of getting them just because they usually work out to be cheaper.

I miss being able to get milk in bags. Even when I was in BC the only place you could find it was Save-On. I wish it was something that would catch on here.

Is that fresh milk though or UHT? 'cos man, UHT, tastes like crap.

    8. Andrea_R (45 months ago | reply)

It's fresh/pastureized. I had to look up what UHT milk was. Ew.

In NZ they make milk in bags but it's only available to wholesale customers, not your run of the mill consumers. The rest of us have to get plastic bottles or cartons.
