My father-in-law flew the P38 Lightning in the South Pacific. Models and books and stories about that plane have been part of our lives for as long as I can remember. Beautiful shot!

Never Was An Arrow II  Pro User  says:

Hi, I'm an admin for a group called This Museum Called Canada, and we'd love to have this added to the group!

GLACIER GIRL and other US aircraft from Operation Bolero had to re-fuel in Gander, Newfoundland or Goose Bay, Labrador… so, YES… these aircraft are a part of the History of Canada.

Operation Bolero was the build up of US Armed forces personnel and material in Great Britain for the attack on Europe.

The F-35 Lightning II also has Canadian technology.
