Rolling Thunder #3
Tomorrow is Memorial Day in the USA -- a time to honor our war dead.
In the last few years, "Rolling Thunder" has become a tradition in the Washington, DC area on the day before Memorial Day.
"Rolling Thunder" means that literally thousands of Vietnam veterans ride their Harley Davidsons to DC and parade through the streets, culminating at the Vietnam War Memorial. It's a testimony to patriotism and service, and raises issues at the heart of our nation today.
I went there today to take pictures.

Nice shot. Good motion blur. Nice expression on the subject. Not a keeper though...

I like this photo, Tom. It carries the impact you describe.
And it's good to learn about this Washington DC tradition for Memorial Day.

Instant saveme despite one small issue: The signage in the background is a distracting element. If you can photoshop it out (God knows how) the image will have more impact and the composition will be simpler.

Blah. I don't see much here on the technique side that merits a save.

A ok shot... but not worth a save. Blurred when viewed large.

@Akeblom:
I'm genuinely interested in knowing why you think this photo is "too patriotic"? Any elaboration would be welcome, thanks.

some of these comments are idiotic... I thought the point was to giive a critique--not just swing around wildly with the "deletme" hatchet.
This isn't my photo but if it were mine I'd want some insightful remarks.

@future-phd:
You're right.
My fave was "I hope they crash and fall off of the bike."
I thought that was a particularly insightful critique.
bbikkerr1 (73 months ago | reply)
Come on people, the purpose of deleteme is NOT and NEVER was insightful critique....even if the subject is personal or even patriotic. This is not about serious critique but fun and being mean most of the time...if you get a good critique then feel lucky, don't feel robbed if you don't get any...
As for the picture, the comp is rather interesting and I like the subject, however moving or not the subject is not in crisp enough focus to make the picture work. (And in the spirit of deleteme I hope they fun over your camera).
