Onsaker

Onsaker

Onsaker on the westside of Randsfjorden. Norway's forth largest lake.

This is actually shot by the jetty of my family's cabin. The jetty as you can see, is new and the ladder was put up just a couple of weeks ago.

Back to work!

Thanks for looking.

Jotunheimen National Park

Jotunheimen National Park

From a trip I did last summer. Revised image. New b/w conversion.

I feel like this is one of the more "monumental" images that I've done over the last couple of years.

Being there at the right time meant everything. Getting the exposure right was just something that came instinctively. I had visualized this image beforehand and it contains the beauty of the Norwegian mountains with its changing light and shadow.

Thank you for looking.

Layers of Contrast and Scale

Layers of Contrast and Scale

Leirungsdalen, Jotunheimen. June 2008.

Pushing contrast to the extreme in this black/white conversion. It's about getting a certain layering and having a wide range between the brightest part of the image and the darkest parts. Somewhat inspired by the great Ansel Adams.

The scale of things or more the difference in scale, was also something that drew me into shooting this photo. The tiny human-made cabin in stark contrast to the grand nature that surrounds it.

Processed on a calibrated CRT screen. If possible, view on a CRT screen. It looks very very much brighter on my Dell LCD.

Return to Svenaa

Return to Svenaa

Returning to the Svenaa River Valley.

Mainly to test my new polarizer. Finally I have a 77mm polarizer I can use on my 17-40L. It's a Hoya S-HMC Pro slim polarizer which works excellent.

The photo. Well, I'm not that happy about it. Having visited this location more than a dozen times, I am yet to get the "defining" shot. Very difficult location to shoot in. Broken trees, a generally messy river bank makes the shots from this location kind of messy themselves.

Anyways. Thanks for looking and I hope you're having a great weekend.

Tomorrow is the Euro 2008 Final match. Germany vs. Spain. I am hoping for a victory to the Spanish. Viva España!

Sail Away

Sail Away

A sail boat in the inner Oslo fjord that I presume was out on its first outing for the year in mid-February. A warm February evening that was.
