A rainy day on Bourbon Street, New Orleans by And all that Malarkey.

With An Event Apart NOLA over, it was time for winding down in New Orleans.

Even the heavy rain couldn't dampen spirits, although it dampened just about everything else.

(I'm often amazed how good the crappy iPhone camera can sometimes be)

The iPhone's camera really isn't that crappy. It's probably one of the best 2MP camera's that you'll find in a phone. However, it's the short-comings help make this a really nice shot. The depth is compressed, everything is slightly out of focus, and the low-res and compression-artifacts make it look almost like a painting.

It reminds me of Edward Hopper's Nighthawks, with the perspective of his New York Movie. Well done.

Goes to show that a good photographer can spot a great photo anywhere even if they are taking it with a low-end camera. All the expensive equipment in the world won't make up for being at the right place and time and spotting a great shot!
