One more bed left in the backyard! As you can see, there's a significant amount of shadow from the trees. Time to find a friend with a hatchet!

Soil's getting too sandy and full of clay. The compost is only a year old so I can't exactly harvest it quite yet. I called around and realized I really do need to just buy some manure.

I feel stupid because I'm paying $6 for a 15L bag of shitty dirt. And I'll need at least 2 bags.

Neat little trick for seedings is to use egg cartons.

When the seedlings are ready to be transplanted, you just cut open the bottom of the (soft and mushy) egg carton and put that directly in the soil.

And the leeks are the first to germinate! Or it's weeds! Eitherway, life!

After purchasing a shovel and a trowel set, this is the result of six intense hours.

The earth is exceedingly fertile. It's full of worms and bugs, and the 1.5 year old compost is looking amazing, with its solid black mass of worms.

I've also bought the following seeds: Carrot, green onion, zuccini, broccoli, beans, cucumber, big tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, and sunflower.

I'm exhausted.
