Daisies are everywhere at the moment!

Every year on Memorial Day weekend, thousands of flags representing Massachusetts war dead are planted on the hill beneath the Soldier and Sailor monument on the hill on Boston Common. The flag garden is planted by volunteers and paid for by the Massachusetts Military Heroes fund.

I stood on top of the hill and waited for a suitably dignified person to walk by.

I saw my first ever question mark butterfly about a month ago. Now I keep seeing them everywhere! I don't know if it's an especially good year for the species or if I have just tuned in. Anyway, the butterfly gets its name from the little white question mark pattern on the underside of the wing - seen quite clearly here (but see comments). Although if I were naming it, it would be called the upsidedown semicolon.
