YIP ~ Day 82

YIP ~ Day 82 by Shooting the Kids.
A little Play-Doh fun.

Sophia looooooves Play-Doh. And lucky for her I just happen to have this set of 100+ cookie cutters that she gets to pull out every time the Play-Doh comes out. I'm a little anal though and usually she only gets to play with one color at a time. Except that one time when she had a bunch out and, while I ran to the bathroom for only a minute, she decided to see what would happen if she mixed them all together. OCD mommy twitched from that day forward. Only one color at a time now. But she's cool with that.

Going to the bathroom is a scary scary adventure isn't it?? You never know what surprises are in store for you when you get out. The other day I came out to my daughter using a marker on the WALL!!!!! Not fun.

We have a strict one Play-Doh color at a time policy, too! These are fun pictures - I love playing Play-Doh with my little girl.

Love this--she looks like she's having so much fun. Cookie cutters are such a great idea for play-doh time... I've been wondering what to make with the mini cookie cutters Luke got for his birthday (I'm worrying that if we actually make miniature cookies, they'll burn to a crisp)... this would be the perfect solution!

I just love the little string of bears here. :o)

You're smart! I still dream of my little angels actually using the play-doh the way the manufacturers intended, and make green leaves, red flowers and so on...
Which leads to me deconstructing the many-coloured blobs in the end, when they have hopped off to some new adventure.
Because I _know_ that they won't want to use that dough the next time.
Sigh...

Ha - I've got as many control issues as the next person (or more...) but somehow, I have let go the playdough color mixing thing. Bring it on - the more swirls and blogs and mixes the better. If she doesn't care that it all goes gray then I don't care either.

Now, crayons? They gotta stay in RAINBOW ORDER. ;-)

Hahaha - thanks everyone! I'm so glad I have so many partners in crime on this one! I really thought I was being obsessively weird about this. But for me, I just hate the green flecks in the yellow and the orange/pink/brown mess. One at a time is fine for her, as long as I'm right there to regulate. But oh, who am I kidding? Give it a couple more months and I'll probably cave under the pressure of wanting to make cool mult-colored projects. I'm sure I'll take pictures then, too. And then I'll rush off to therapy.

veggirl - Oh man...SO sorry about the wall! I understand completely...

wingless - Play-Doh perfume?! Weirdest. Thing. Ever!

Happythings - I LOVE that you do that with crayons. I haven't taken it to that level yet. But I think you might like to see my color-coded closet. Wow-- I promise I'm not as scary as I sound. :-)

:-) Yes - I'd love to see your closet. Sounds like a photos a day idea to me! My shirts are in rainbow order too. That's where it ends though. My socks/undies/pants just aren't that colorful...
