In the eight months that I have lived in China, I believe that I've eaten more corn in that time than in my entire life leading up being here. Seriously!
Corn is a snack food that's sold on the streets for 2-yuan a pop (about 25 cents USD). I can't get enough of it. I'm contemplating opening up my own corn stand in the States, but I'm not sure about whether Americans will be as obsessed with corn as I've become.

have you read The Omnivore's Dilemma? There is quite a bit in there about Americans and corn. Not in the way that you mean, exactly, but still very interesting.
