First Setup

    New accomodation, first attempt at getting my work space setup. Computer is an Alienware running Vista via the Dell 30" screen. The desk is an Ikea 'Jerker' if anyone's interested. Amazing desk for the money. Need to get some picture frames sorted now and repaint the room!

      I'm wondering if ti is practical... I mean the 30" display for office work...

      That's what it's for. It's not for HD movies as it doesn't support HDCP (the latest version does though), and it's not for games as you need horrendously expensive hardware to drive it. I use it for developing softwre, where I have numerous windows open at once so can benefit from it. It is MASSIVE though.

      24" would be more than enough, which is what I'm getting. I'll make a decision on whether or not to sell the 30" or move it on to other duties.

      No, I since bought a 24" Dell monitor and the 30" has been given to my girlfriend for her work. Though now I'm thinking about getting another 24" to run next to it.
