Tanbo wākā (The Rice Field worker)

Tanbo wākā (The Rice Field worker in Ozo village)

In the Noto Peninsula, rice is still harvested using traditional methods in terraced rice paddies, one of the major elements of the traditional landscape.

The connection with nature and with Shinto and Buddhist Gods, as well as agricultural rituals and local community administration, are all based around the yearly rhythm of rice farming.
