The first touch - a newborn

The first touch - a newborn

Aron, my son was born on a beautiful sunny summer day on July 17th 2003.

It was a stressful morning that day for me and I did not feel very good in the labor room up until shortly after the birth. Then I knew both my wife and son were just fine and everything went well. What a relief and what i difference from the extreme roller coaster ride when my daughter was born, this was the kiddie ride compared to that.
So after his birth I felt the very oppisite from earlier in the morning, I felt like the sun outside was there because of him and I knew that great times waited for us with our two beautiful children.

I took this photo at the moment when my daughter saw and touched him for the very first time a couple of hours after his birth, she was 6 years and 3 weeks old that day. When she saw him she asked "was he born with a diaper?"

The two of them are very good brother and sister, they end all their days hugging each other.

Aron has a great character, he is my little smiley boy.

there I found myself...

there I found myself...

...in the nature's atmosphere
frozen in time in the zone of zen
it's cool, it's pure just being there
and I hope I will find myself again...
...next time in Hrafntinnusker

A selfportrait taken at Hrafntinnusker, a small glacier at the southern highlands of Iceland. I always "find myself" in the Icelandic nature, it is where I belong.

This is a single shot.

the departure

the departure

A self portrait story about my feel-good fantasy dream of saying goodbye to a lost hope without any regret.

But that is just my story for this series, please share the story you see from it...

I used myself as the model. I kept the dead plant for a very long time (many months) as I wanted to use it for some images later and finally I used it when I got this idea..
I sketched the idea of the serie first on a paper.
This is taken at Reykjanestá, an hour-hour and a half drive from my home. Three times I went there in few days as I wanted to get the images right. The last time I went for it, there was a storm warning on the radio but it did not stop me and I managed to get the best images in the crazy weather, although the silhouette image of me standing in the foreground on rocks holding the plant (departure I) is taken on my first trip there.
