Day 153/365 ~ In the End, the Love You Take is Equal to the Love You Make
May 14, 2011.
So why not make the first move?
Most of us don't know that in order to receive, you must give. Maybe it all balances out as equal in the end. Maybe it doesn't. But does that truly matter?
Trepidation makes you not want to make the first move. Hesitation makes you wait for people to come up to you. You both know you want to talk to each other; your eyes meet every few seconds, and you exchange shy, awkward smiles.
But in the end nothing comes out of it because no one is strong enough to start. You find yourself saying, 'I'll say hi tomorrow' the next day, and the day after that.
You never do. You begin to justify yourself with the thought that the other person should talk to you first. You find reasons to explain why you're not the one who should begin. And they do the same.
Maybe you get over it, you forget about this matter, you forget about it all. But you know, inside you, a tiny part of you wishes, so badly, that you had spoken, just one word, just any word. That you had tried. By then it'll be too late. Much too late.
That's another game of life that ends up in a draw. Both of you are left with 'What if?' Is What If really less worse than the possibility of being the loser in the game?
You decide.
