I think thats new, most of the street signs were green. I think it started with West 26th Street, which then became Dean Keaton street.

Yeah, all the burnt orange street signs looked pretty new. In this case, it looks like they only put them up on one side of the street; another street sign in the same intersection is green.

I'm glad you're enjoying your photos of Austin. I believe April 9th, the local flickrites are getting together for a powwow. You're welcome to come.
In the Austin Group, there's a thread about this:

Thanks for the invite. Sadly, I'm DC-based and can't make it. I do want to come out to Austin again; at the very least, hopefully I'll be back for the next SXSW!

street signs started switching to orange when i was still at UT, and i graduated in 2002. and i'm pretty sure my dorm freshman year was on 21st (jester, the largest and most institutional dorm in all the land). i haven't been back in forever, so it's fun to reminisce through your photos.

I moved to Austin in 97, and this was when 26th Street was the original name, it got moved over to Dean Keaton in like, 99. Then the signs started to become orange.

It's not bad, a nice touch. I'm surprized they have yet to start planing orange flowers along the edges of the original 40 acres.
