Double Sunset

This is an animation of a double sunset. It's possible a distant horizon could help make observations of when it's a solstice. In this example the first sunset is the day before the summer solstice, and the the second sunset the day of the solstice, when the sun briefly re-appears in a notch on the horizon after setting.

To take full advantage of Flickr, you should use a JavaScript-enabled browser and
install the latest version of the Macromedia Flash Player.
