Tokyo Artery

Shibuya
Tokyo Artery by /\ltus.
Brought my Pentax dSLR to work today so I could make a run to the top of the Roppongi Hills Mori building after work; just before the usual Thursday night Tequila drinking with friends.

Could see the city just fine, but it was raining fairly hard so the windows on the 52 floor were covered with water, thus couldn't get clear shots :-(

HDR rendered photo taken atop the Roppongi Hills Mori Building in Tokyo, Japan.

Just as well you took that before the Tequila!

Great image of the city life. And I agree, very Blade Runner.

How many people do you think are encompassed by that image?

Speechless scene. Every building is "distinguishable."
omg that was a big word for me, lol.

The "wound" perception above also crossed my mind. LA s of course the Emperor of slashed neighborhoods by freewayt arteries.

Thanks much everyone for the kind word and faves!

@Jasmic - So true! I can hardly walk, much less aim and shoot after my drinking session! Good question: in this photo I'd say at *least* 1 million people (all the way out to the lights on the horizon).

@Gert and Capt - Cool observation on the "wound".

@annikagum - Cool comment about it making you forget to breathe; way honored you liked it that much!

hi altus and fam.!
it is so funny to look at your pictures now after seeing this (tokyo) on my own. totally different perspective! wonderful.
you know, on my last night i went up to park hyatt on the top floor. There was a jazz band playing fantastically and the view was just *wooohooo*. A nice cocktail. Voilá. Couldnt get any better, right? I am sure you have been up there as well. ;-)
One thing I totally missed out though: Fuji. Not seen it from anywhere LOL

I noticed, that all the tall buildings make a cross section across the highway and then the buildings right next to it are taller buildings than the one not.

To me, it looks like a cross in the city. One giant cross...
