Pinhole Rose

Pinhole Rose by alspix.
The last one from the first colour roll through my 24x24mm matchbox pinhole camera.

Yeah, I know it looks like it’s the wrapper from a 8-pack of toilet paper, but this one kinda blew me away when I scanned it in. It was taken with a matchbox goddamit! :-)

The matchbox was about half an inch from the rose, which was indoors under the kitchen fluorescent light strip, about a minute exposure I think.

I think we can safely judge this one a perfect success. Velly nice Mr Al. I hope you haven't been neglecting the garden, what with all this here photography you've been getting up to.

this does have the 70s sunlight feel, combined with an 1870s antique feel... the spirit of the photograph is unfettered by expensive lenses and camera bodies- a person with a pinhole camera can create art just as well, if not better...

excellent

Amazingly sharp for a minute exposure! Do you have a cable shutter release for your matchbox pinhole?:-)

ha ha, no, but it's easier to get a sharp pinhole shot on long exposures like this rather than "short" (i.e. less than a few seconds) as there's no blur from fumbling around with the cardboard shutter :-)

Thanks Hannah, good luck with the camera! Black tape, and lots of it - that's the answer!
