A Summer Night
Beaufort-by-the-sea. Founded in 1709, our town is the third oldest in the state. Originally a Port of Entry and fishing village, Beaufort has a rich maritime history. Our historic waterfront district along Taylor’s Creek offers visitors the opportunity to dine and shop while enjoying views of feral horses on Carrot Island and boats from all over the world at the Beaufort Docks.
