Usability Feature

I love how the quantity metric is related to the classic milk bottle.
The carton has a plastic inner shell anyway. Making holes in the outside makes the current quantity left visible.
Usability Feature by illustir.
I love the new found usability feature built into the milk cartons. They're not absolutely necessary, you can just as easily feel if a carton is full or empty, and to see these markings you would have to pick up the carton in most cases anyway. It's just nice that it offers a better connection with the inside of the carton and the outside.

The only thing that would put this over the top would be some kind of indicator which turns a part on the carton green when the milk has gone bad.

An indicator is really necessary as I get the feeling the Albert Heijn milk turns bad much sooner after the gone-by date than other milk 'brands' ;)

Anything I drink, I drink by the pint, so cartons don't go much over date in our house.

I find this a nice gimmick, yet not much of an improvement, as you said ..

there's some flaws in the design as well .. the 1,5L has the window on the opening side (yes, you should use THAT side because of the opening-handle they also implemented) creating an unstable side to grab .. Because of that, you need to place it in the fridge by holding the other side .. as a result, the milk-gauge-window is pointing away from you! Now you STILL have to pick up the milk out of the fridge and turn it around to see how much is in there .. by then you already know because of the weight ...

I guess it's useful when cooking? if you need an x amount of milk?

Love the improvements. The new plastic "lipje" is really odd though, it interferes with pouring the milk.

I like that it does add value, while I guess production of the new package is about the same price.
