I stood up at 5 a.m., a starry, but cold night. The setting moon was
huge and incredibly red (see pic below). I drove down to Lake
Chiemsee, intending to take some nice sunrise pictures with the
mountains in the background. Brilliant and colorful pictures. When I
reached Lake Chiemsee, there was nothing but early morning fog, all
around. Nothing to picture. At the lake shore I waited for the coming
up of anything special, nearly two hours in the foggy cold. 6.56 a.m.
sunrise time, nothing happened. Still fog all around. But then, after
waiting one more hour, suddenly a pale sun was to be seen for some
moments. As a reward for staying three hours and freezing, two swans
came around the corner, to result in my shot of the day.

This is absolutely breathtaking. It has such a serene, quiet atmosphere, like a pause in time, yet there is also a mysteriousness to it due to the dark tones and foggy light. Congratulations on a well-deserved explore!
