The Robertsons and Darjeeling |
My grandfather, George Patrick
Robertson, was municipal engineer in
Darjeeling, India. Sadly his life was
cut short in 1914 when he drowned in an
accident in the Teesta River. A keen
photographer, (you see, it's been
running in our family for a LONG time!)
he left a lot of photos, some of which
will appear here in due course.
My thanks to Barun Roy in Darjeeling
for encouraging me to do this.
Apparently GP Robertson is held in high
esteem over there, as one of the
'founding fathers'. I feel quite
humbled!
