Tribute to ~aspidistra~
So hard to choose a shot to tribute from this talented lady but I was drawn to the 'photo transposed on photo' effect she so elegantly captured. This is a shot of me as a toddler taken in Wallsend. I havent exactly moved far so decided to recreate the moment. It wasn't as easy as I'd thought it would be because (a) there are loads of trees there now which weren't there then, so the main landmarks in the original shot are now hidden and (b) I looked like a loon waving a 70's photo around while people were jogging/cycling/dog walking around me. Still, I now know that the angle of the path means my dad crouched down to take the original shot, and that very brief glimpse into the past pleases me somehow!
