Gold on Top

My first real macro attempt. You must be thinking: wtf is this? Well, it's a USB crystal-ish christmas tree, seen from above. It's about 12 cm high, with a golden star on top ;-) When you hook it up to a PC, it lights up in different colours.

I put it inside my DIY Macro Photo Studio and triggered a SB-800 Speedlight outside the box to the right, through CLS. Black paper background. Postprocessing with Nik Color Efex Pro and some minor editing in Lightroom. No tripod was used btw.

Bayeux

How about that, I bought myself the macro lens I wanted for a long time, and still I manage to post a shot taken with another lens! But I finally found the right postprocessing for this shot, that's why I gave it priority.

This is a town called Bayeux, a commune in the Calvados department in Normandy, North-western France.

HDR from 3 handheld exposures, processing with Photomatix, postprocessing with Nik Color and Silver Efex Pro.

Always a pleasure

My long wanted macro lens arrived yesterday, a Nikkor 105 mm f/2.8 VR Micro. This is one of the very first shots I took, of a Coca-Cola can. Will check your streams this afternoon!
