~stunning...have you spied Mary Ellen Mark's images when she went to the Great Famous
Circus in Calcutta, India, or her essays on
twins??? Have you taken any time to
read/flip through "Revelations"?...when I view your image above I
instantly am reminded of both of them, their
work...a fine portrait here, deeply moving
and so well executed IMO~
Extremely fine portrait, has a sense of
documentary and character that is very hard
to acheive - for the rest of us :p

excellent portrait. love that kind of
dramatic/theatrical lighting on him, his
expression and his unusual features. well
done. great title as well.

Cinematic. I feel like I'm viewing a child
star's portrait...someone in the '50s. It's
fabulous, Rod. I am blown away!!

Confidence shown on those firm browns and the
line of his closed lips on his young face .
Genius like , indeed .
* when i saw the title , like everybody ,
i thought it was about your portrait or
something in the same field * . ;)

Wow. There is a story to be told... he
looks wise beyond his young years... he seems
to acknowledge that playing the guitar is a
responsibility -- not just child's play....
Your lighting makes the image absolutely
poignant and his grip on the guitar neck
grips ME.

beautiful complex simplicity. i love the
bright spot of the star on his elbow, but
kind of wish the other printing on his sleeve
wasn't there...
