The letters were sourced from a display
typeface book at St Bride's Printing Library
(http://www.stbride.org/) - one of the best
printing and typographic resources in the
country - well worth a visit - heck, why not
become a friend of the library as well?
The U and the E were completely re-drawn
though, as the originals didn't have quite
the right flavour about them.

Were these hand drawn? Or do you have access to the originals? Or at least reproductions of them?

They look like Victorian era letters you can find in some of the Dover books. It's a wonderful design!
