Feedlot horror, Garden City, Kansas

Shot from what was labeled by the highway department as a "scenic lookout," a view of beef cattle, which are fed grain and antibiotics. The animals, standing in their own waste, are slaughtered before they become too sick from their unnatural diets. Many of such industrially grown cattle suffer from abscessed livers by the time they reach the slaughterhouse. For more information, read Michael Pollan's "The Omnivore's Dilemma."
