Made from black felt, this hand will become a badge for Jonny Fryer. I've been obsessed with hands recently. I want to make hundreds!

i once made a ceramic hand in school.
i dropped it and it was left two fingers, fate it transpired dealt me a lucky blow. it looked far better.
i then tried to make a foot.
clay and ankles arent bedfellows let me tell you.

anyways, i like your hands!

Did your ceramic hand damage result in swearing? Two fingers up?

I'm in charge of the kiln at the school I work at and often there will be disasters. It was heartbreaking one day when only a few of the year 13 self-portrait heads came out in tact. I think they hadn't been hollowed out enough. But some of the girls heads looked very creepy where they had cracked....a perfect pear shape incorporating the nose and the mouth seemed to come away in exactly the same place on three of the heads. Very bizarre!

i also made a fish, the fish turned out ok but the fact that it looked like was was swimming in a torrent of vomit didnt go down to well with me gran when i handed it too her for her 70th birthday.
