they are two very good photos and i would be happy to have either as a photo on my wall at home. They are also two very different photos which makes it extremely difficult to choose. In the end i feel the other photo is stronger as it. Maybe if you had a tighter crop and loss some of the foreground it might improve the impact of the photo?

Wow, this is a really strong contest and it's really difficult to me to vote. I've vote this photo as a favourite, but the defender's shot have an amazing mood. Both have a classic composition, but one have cold colours and one hot. I agree with Fantasma Doido , the crop could be better, but i want to vote for your photo, i prefer the cold photo.

I like the composition but it is just too cold and has a dark expression to it where as the defenders pic relates me to hope and strong will...lovely pic but the preference for the defender is solely due to a personal perspective..hope you do not mind....I like the crop though...really puts the main subject in limelight.....

the depth, contrast & composition of the defender's is stronger in my opinion...

from the angle shot, yours almost looks as if the horizon is lop sided...

I prefer this one, amazing shot of the icebergs, nice light and contrasting background. The defender is a great shot, nice cliffs and tree, interesting detail, but it is harder to get such an iceberg shot and this appeals more for me.

      I like this pictures,

But the other pciture is more interesting, i like very much the profundity and perpective of the defender

I appreciate that this shot must have been difficult to capture, and the darkness almost works for me to bring out the cold feel, but I prefer the dramatic, unexpected angle, use of sepia and framing in the defender's shot.
