Death Ray 1945![]() ![]() I'm currently enjoying a book titled Electronics Dictionary by Cooke and Markus, published 1945 by McGraw-Hill. At one point it was owned by an Oliver Graves, who wrote his name in pencil on the cover sheet.
The 433-page book is holding up quite nicely despite a disclaimer on the first page which reads: "The quality of the materials used in the manufacture of this book is governed by continued postwar shortages." It is full of obsolete and esoteric concepts, and strange forgotten inventions in the fields of communications and medicine. Not only that, it has no entries for Transistor, Digital, or Computer! I'll scan some more gems when I get a chance Would you like to comment?Sign up for a free account, or sign in (if you're already a member). |
