A walk with Jack
I got Jack from a shelter where he had spent the first 10 months of his life. His back leg was a little crippled from sitting in a cage all day. He had no idea how to walk and walking him was a nightmare.
It took over a year, lots of training (for us both) to get to this point where he walks wonderfully off leash. When I stop, he stops. When I walk, he walks. He never wanders off and always looks for me and will wait for me if I'm going slow. Without words or cues. We're just in sync now and I can't tell you how wonderful it is (and worth all those hard training times when I never thought it'd get better).
And I just have to add that he inspires me when he walks. I swear he's a new soul because he's always SO happy to walk - look at that tail. It doesn't matter that he's never been there before, he always walks happy and confident. That's a lesson to me.
(This was filmed during our stay at Haiku House in Northern California which we LOVED.

great training! I walk my dog off leash. . . but only at a park with big fields of grass. Elsewhere she needs a leash.

Great Story!!!! I'm glad all you hard work and time spent with Jack paid off so well! A big congrats to the two of you!!! Alot of people would not have taken on such a challenge. I like the music too, who is the artist?

Beautiful. Reminds me of times hiking Mt Tam with my dog (now passed away) and that feeling of being "in sync" I remember so well. Thank you.
