Juego de Pelota
A view of one of the two stone rings located at the Great Ball Court in Chichen Itza.
Seven courts for playing the Mesoamerican ballgame have been found in Chichen, but the one about 150 meters to the north-west of the Castillo is by far the most impressive. It is the largest ballcourt in ancient Mesoamerica. It measures 166 by 68 meters (545 by 232 feet). Don't forget to cast your vote for Chichen Itza to become one of the New Seven Wonders: www.new7wonders.com/index.php . CommentsAleksu says:Mary, I'm serious, that was the way they
played it, and well, it was not about getting
the ball through the small ring every single
time, scoring there would give you a great
advantage over your opponent but you could
add to the score other ways. fotos-de-alejandra [deleted] says:magnificent! fotos-de-alejandra [deleted] says:era lo que esperaba de ti...

So how did they get the ball up so high? I've always wondered.
Did you just visit Chichen Itza? You're close to it, right? Lucky you!
