Seismic Elevator Button

    What happens when you push the "SEISMIC" button on this elevator?

    Do you do that if the elevator becomes seismic, or if you wish it did? And just what is a seismic elevator?

      I was in an elevator when the 5.4 Chino Hills earthquake struck about two hours ago. I didn't see this button on our elevator, but I think the button would make the elevator stop at the next floor and let people out.

      Thankfully, I'd already pushed the button for the next floor by mistake. After the earthquake, my kids stopped giving me grief for my fortuitous error.
