This is about dumping in the alley at the rear of 523 Seven Sisters Road N15. Please see the emails below.
I hadn't been back for nearly a year. Then last week a local resident contacted me, saying she'd seen my Flickr photos and there was still regular dumping near Seven Sisters Road and the shops.
I strolled down the alley last Sunday. As before, there was a pile of waste bags - worryingly - next to the gas meters. Please see my photo and brief video.
Plainly, it's time to "refresh" the contact made with residents and traders.
More positively, the small garden behind the shops seems reasonably well maintained; with shrubs planted last year (?) established and doing okay.

Subject : Dumping - Alley & Rear 523 Seven Sisters Road N15
Thank you for your previous email dated 11 November 2007. After investigations by the Waste Management & Enforcement Teams, the following comments were provided:
Residents on this section of Seven Sisters Road are to leave out their domestic waste in tied black bags by the side of the pavement for collections between the 7pm and 8pm, every night of the week (Mondays to Sundays).
Any bags found placed on the pavement outside of these times will be classed as dumped rubbish and may result in a fixed penalty notice being issued.
We will leaflet the residents in this area to inform them of the correct time and place to leave out bags.
Please find attached photos taken by Enforcement Team.
I trust this is satisfactory. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I regret to report that normal dumping service seems to have resumed at the mouth of the alley next to Hemans bakery, which leads to the rear of 523 Seven Sisters Road.
Last week I spotted a small pile of dumped bags. So I checked again when I went past yesterday (Saturday 10 November). Again, there was a small pile of dumped bags. Some were large black rubbish bags and there were some smaller plastic bags of other colours. As usual, the bags were piled up near the gas meters.
Can I please ask that my previous suggestions for tackling this problem are looked at. The tide of dumping may rise or fall. But it will continue unless and until:
(1) There is effective informal agreement among the majority of residents and traders not to dump here. This would leave:
(2) effective enforcement action to be concentrated on the small remaining number of residents and traders who insist on feeding the rats and creating an eyesore, a stink and a fire hazard.
