Are you all mixed up inside?

Are you all mixed up inside? by Reciprocity.
This fish seems to have some internal problems and it's feeling a little off colour. How are you today?

Four-dimensional beings can see our insides and outsides at the same time, just like we can see the inside and outside of this two-dimensional fish. Makes you think...

Thanks folks for your comments:
Chubby Bat: Simon, I don't think our fishy friend has a cold problem, more suffering the effects of internal combustion and a little gas.
Spy to die 4: X-rays would be a little hard for this fish to clearly digest, electromagnetically he prefers something very much softer.
SniviLL: No ink,not even squid ink, used here.Hope your other half recovers soon.
Automania: What a mind boggling thought! This chap's frozen in time so that's at least constant.
jam343: I wouldn't go so far as to call it fine, but it's art of a kind.

We should make two copies of this - one signed by a three year old and other with any well-known artist and ask for comments from audience. Should be very interesting.

Good idea Pandiyan, I trust you are putting me in the artist group and not the three year old. :-)) Actually the only drawing here is done by light. But it's all my own work.

I agree with dallsoppuk, it's an intriguing shape. Some viscous fluid?

Correct Bryonia: It's a small clear glass fish I made years ago(about 3cm long). It was placed in contact on film, exposed in the darkroom and then after development an enlarged print was made. Thanks for playing the game everybody.

Thank you Spy to die 4. It started out as an unusual shot of an unusual object and a six word story about being mixed up, but it turned into a quiz. Thanks for keeping it in the pool. I hope my new ones are OK.

I like this a lot - it being like a drawing but undrawn, the broad brush-stroke of the the outline and the delicate inards. With all these there is something of the "found object" reborn from a created thing...

I think it would be quite something to meet you in the real life, sir -- you have bizzarity abounds!

The fact that you created this out of glass amazes me. What is your job title, if you don't me asking. You have mentioned working with massive microscopes, and I would love having such a job, myself.

Thank you turboswami; when I first started working it was in the Research Dept. within the chemical industry. Although there were glass workers to make specialized equipment you were taught and expected to make simple joints (2 or 3 way), bends, and other basic pieces in glass or quartz tubing for the project you were working on. I made this for a bit of fun. As I became more interested in optics and materials science I changed from the chemical industry to the glass industry to become a research scientist specializing in microscopy.
