Turkey Creek Falls

Turkey Creek Falls

I was surprised at how beautiful it was. Alabama has a lot of falls that just aren't publicized... but maybe that's a good thing.

And yes, the grass was that color. It's Spring, grass is allowed to look like it's illuminated by neon lights.

April 27, 2011 Later That Night

April 27, 2011 Later That Night

I took this one, also from my dorm on campus, after we had gotten back from driving around. We had to find food. Anyway, by this time, the entire city (except for the west side of town of course) had lost power. The stadium is lit by back up generators, as are the entrances to the residence halls.

April 27, 2011

April 27, 2011

I took this a few hours after the tornado came through Tuscaloosa. At this time, we still had electricity. Also at this time, we still weren't exactly sure what had happened. By that, I mean that we knew a tornado had just ripped through the city, but we weren't sure where it had gone, what it had destroyed, or just how bad it was.

Needless to say, when we found out "what had happened", it was a lot worse than we had expected.

I don't know why it took me so long (about 8 or 9 months) to upload this.

Anyways, this was taken from my 10th floor window at Rose Towers on the UA campus. This building will be torn down this summer.
