Made it to Syria...but everything is blocked...

Hey all,
I've made it into Syria after about 4 hours answering questions and waiting for a fax to come in saying I was "okay" to enter at the border and 5 more hours in buses to Damascus. I don't even know if this is going to work because Facebook is blocked here and I am unable to log into my TypePad blog or retrieve my upload by email option....soooo...I am attempting to post a note to my facebook blog via an upload to my TypePad blog via my Flickr account...got that? Don't you love being sneaky? Let's see if it works. I will be here for at least one night, maybe two before heading to Beirut where I'm pretty sure Facebook is not blocked and I can rejoin the connected world.

Hopefully this uploads so you all don't think I'm someplace unpleasant. I'm looking forward to exploring the Cradle of Civilization now.
