This is such a huge issue now. Our school district's cell phone policy is changing this year to allow PEDs in the classroom for instruction only. However, many of our older schools are not equipped with wifi (mine included). The district is phasing in wifi access to our schools, but chances are that my school will not have it for another year at least. All the technology in the world and this direction we are being pointed in so fervently is useless without connectivity. So, what to do in the meantime? I plan on asking students to download free apps as homework when their devices can connect to the internet. Those apps then do not require connectivity to use in the classroom. I hope this will carry us over until we can connect wirelessly in the future. Any other suggestions?
